Friday, Friday, Friday is my favorite day!

YAY! It's Friday. And it's almost 2:00! So the weekend will begin very soon. It's a 3 day weekend to boot! (Haha, I said "to boot"! I sound like my grandma.)

Yesterday, I didn't even make it to work before the girl's daycare called and said they had fevers. So I went to pick them up and we went home and had a movie day. They watched "A Bug's Life" and Payton's favorite "Willy Wonker". Haha, I crack up everytime she says that! While they lounged around, I purged like a mad woman. I cleaned out all of the toys in our house and organized, tossed and boxed up things to take to my moms. She's gonna love that! I had recently got Payton and Ellie a set of baby stuff-a couple strollers, a mini pack and play, a swing and a highchair-and they LOVE to play with it all. So I made that the center of attention in Ellie's room for awhile. I packed some other toys away and will rotate in a few months. That keeps them excited about their toys. The girls were all better after motrin and chili cheese fries for lunch. That was Ellie's request. I asked if they wanted some chicken noodle soup and she wanted chili cheese fries, haha! They are at grandma's today so they don't pass on whatever it was that they had to any babies at daycare. Kathie called last night and said that 5 kids had to go home with fevers yesterday. Welcome back to school! :P

We don't have any plans this weekend, but I am ready for it! My mom asked if the girls can spend the night one night, so maybe Brad and I can get out of the house. More often than not, when we have a free night, we sleep. :P I do need to finish painting our room. I guess I could do that-blah!

Hot Mess

So I shouldn't have said that in my blog earlier......

Tonight Ellie dumped out a HUGE bottle of bubble bath on the tile. Do you people realize how hard it is to clean up slimy bubble bath? I seriously considered bringing in the water hose.

Wendy gave me a ton, I mean A TON, of shoes to pass on to Payton. I'd say between 40 and 50 pairs. For real. Most unworn. Tags even. So that started my little project tonight of cleaning out closets. I bagged up Ellie's clothes for Kloe. I moved Payton's clothes to Ellie's closet. I put Em and Brookie's clothes in Payton's closet. It only took me about 5 hours. Tomorrow I move on to the shoes. Someone get me a drink.

Updating.....

Lots of little updates.

Kloe is getting big! 2 months old already! The chickadee will be fighting, uh I mean playing with her big cousins very soon! I am looking forward to the holidays this year. Now we all have 3 beauties to spoil.

Payton update-She had her "exit interview" for speech today! It was less than a year ago when she had her surgery and now she is all up to date with speech. More than up to date! They have a chart for specific sounds and blends that kids should master by certain ages, and she scored at the 7 year old level. She gets lots of practice, the kid talks A LOT! Next week is preschool orientation and then she starts back the following week. She is so ready. She is the oldest kid in daycare now that her bud Jaida went to Kindergarten, so she gets a little bored. She is doing well in all aspects at home though. Sleeping well, behaving, playing with her little sister, helping out her mom and dad, etc. This morning she combed her hair out after her shower and it looked better than when dad does it, lol! She is a complete pleasure. I love that little booger.

Ellie update-I realized the other day that I hadn't called Ellie a "hot mess" for a while now! HA! She will always be my little "hot mess". She is growing up so fast. She is now sleeping in panties for nap and bed and hasn't had 1 accident! I am so proud of her. She is proud too. Every morning when I go to wake her up, she tells me with a sleepy face that she didn't pee and she didn't cry in her bed. Awwww. She's a spunky little thing that is turning out to be such a special little girl. she has two moods-either happy, happy, happy or super pissed off. It's kind of funny when she's pissed though. :P It never lasts long and mom is always the one to snap her out of it. She was having trouble adjusting at Kathie's and it had me worried. The first week back to daycare, she didn't eat one bite. I was really sad that she was having such a tough time, but this week she is the little natural and eating enough to make up for all the meals she missed last week, lol. I am very proud of her too.

Other family news.....mom had surgery yesterday for some girlie issues, but she seems to be doing ok. She always takes surgery and anesthesia pretty hard, so I was nervous. She's home resting now. She should be all good soon!

Brad's turning 31 next week!!!! I think we will have a BBQ/swim party/poker party the following weekend because Jason & Julie and Mike & Wendy are all going to be out of town this weekend. He needs a new backseat for the bronco, so I think I will go through his computer history and find one he's been eyeing. That's how I pick out all of his gifts. :P

I have been working and planning for school. I found out I have to pass the CSET before I can be accepted to the credential program, so I am registered for the September test. $210. Am I the only one who thinks the test taker should be paid, not the test-giver? :P So I put bootcamp on hold until I pass the test. Priorities, I guess.

That's all for now. :)

Here is Miss Blue Eyes after a swim. I just love her little blond eyebrows. They move up and down and all around when she talks. She's getting so big! I love my little Ellie-Bean.

I still can't figure out how to embed the video......and blogger won't load them for me. Grr! (So click the link.)

It's already flippin' mid-August!

Happy Wednesday. I have only a few minutes before Shear Genius starts.

Well, hmmmm. Guess what? I am now a "graduate student". Weird. I am actually only planning on finishing my credential, but "graduate student" sounds so smart. :P
I have to take and pass the CSET before I finish my student teaching. What is that you ask? I have no clue. Some new test that they are making California teachers pass before finishing their credential now. WHY DIDN'T I JUST FINISH 6 years ago when the CBEST was all I had to pass? WHY? :P Live and learn I guess. I hope I haven't "lived and forgotten" these past 6 years. I have orientation in September. :)

The girls went to Grandma and Grandpa's today while Brad and I worked. They are so excited to have them back in town! They are going back to Kathie's tomorrow morning. I hope the adjustment is an easy one. I love my squirrely girls.

I had my hair cut and colored today. There is something so relaxing about having someone else wash your hair! No more roots! Yippeee!

Ok,time to go....Wednesday is my fav t.v. night. :P

Oildale

08-08-08

"Much like neighboring Bakersfield, Oildale is a conservative town. Country music legend Merle Haggard and NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick are from Oildale. Oildale has a long history of racism, and was once a major center for the Ku Klux Klan. Because of Oildale's conservative nature, along with its reputation for poverty and racism, the town's population is often derided by liberals and nearby Bakersfield as "pecker woods" (which many of the white supremacists in the area call themselves- "O.P.W.'s" or "Oildale Pecker Woods"), "dalian" for subsiding in a dale, or "08ers" due to the Oildale zip code which ends in 08; "Redneck Oildale" is often the subject of redneck and white trash jokes. [1]."-Wiki

Zip code-93308

I grew up in Oildale. I am an "08er". And we will be partying tonight. We are going to the Elk's Club with all of the other "blackfooters" in town to celebrate! I'm so excited. Ain't no party as much fun as an Oildale Party.

Hump Day

This morning I took Payton to the pedi to have her mole checked out. Dr.Sykes measured it and took pictures and called the dermatologist for me to make an appointment. I am waiting for a call back to find out when we can take her in. Dr.Sykes said the color and shape are normal, it's just the quick growth that has her a little worried. Hopefully it's nothing!

I have been in kind of a funk here....work is boring, slow and absolutely unfulfilling. I think the fact that Brad and the girls are home all day having fun is getting to me. I hope we pick up soon, so I can at least stay busy and my mind doesn't wander all day.

Some relationships have been strained for many reasons. I don't need to go into details. I don't want to. I am finally realizing, I think, that I cannot change other people. I can only control how I react and respond. So I am working on myself....always a never-ending project. :P

Julie is leaving me for a week! I am gonna miss her and Jason. I hope they have fun at Lake Havasu. If Brad didn't have to go back to school this week, we might be going along on Monday. Someday we will make the annual Havasu trip with them. This is the 4th year we have had to turn them down. They might stop asking soon! Lol!
Brad has fished a ton this summer. Here are some of his latest catches. He threw them back of course. Bass fisherman don't keep their fish. Did you know that? I didn't. (I'm rolling my eyes right now, if you can't tell.) He sure does spend a lot of time and money on fish that get thrown back. *Oh, and I know that second fish is a catfish. You aren't allowed into the Horack family until you can name the types of fish in the lakes surrounding Bakersfield.

This was a random post. I'm bored.

Off Day

It's just been one of those days. Not bad. Just full of hiccups.

Ellie covered herself in Nair. My Nair, of course. It gives me a rash, like everything else, so it was a full bottle. She put it all over her legs and stomach. I threw her in the bath and washed it off pretty quickly. If you see her in short shorts, well, you know why. 'Who wears short shorts? Nair wears short shorts....'

Payton gave the remote control a bath in the bathroom sink. She was trying to wash the chocolate off of it. The remote is now in about 10 pieces on the bar. I hope it dries out.

Yes, I watch my children. Those little suckers are quick though!

Brad is trying to sell the Bronco. Anyone want a Bronco?

It broke down. Freaking figures. We have the damn thing for 3 years, it runs perfect. The day he drives it down the road to put up for sale, it breaks down on the way.

I am thinking about making some big changes. Brad is supportive. I will divulge more when I know more for sure.

Payton has a doc appointment in the morning. She has a mole on her arm that grew pretty big at super speed, so we are having it checked out. Wish us luck.
